Paul Compton, BSAC Advanced Instructor
GRADE: BSAC First Class Diver Trained in 2001 with
SASAC
Paul has a special interest in technical diving and has taken
Technical Diving International's Trimix Diver course. 'It was something I'd always wanted to do -
the children had grown up and I could go diving when I liked'.

Reg Ellis, BSAC Open Water
Instructor and SASAC's boat

GRADE: BSAC Advanced Diver
Trained with SASAC in 1984.
Reg likes the adventure of UK diving over the 'pedestrian predictability' of most warm-water
diving. He has a special interest in marine life - 'a lot of it tastes so good.'

Henderson, BSAC Open Water Instructor and SASAC's diving officer
GRADE: BSAC
Advanced Diver, PADI Rescue Diver
Started training with
SASAC in 2001 completed following year in the Red Sea, where also became PADI qualified. Likes
neutral buoyancy - 'it's the nearest sensation to weightlessness.'

Sarah Kennedy, BSAC Open
Water Instructor and SASAC's training officer
GRADE: BSAC Dive Leader, PADI Rescue
Diver
Trained with PADI in 2005 in Spain and joined SASAC in 2006. Sarah
likes the tranquillity of diving and prefers the sea life of scenic diving to exploring wrecks -
'I'm not that interested in scrap metal!'

Steve Kennedy, BSAC Open
Water Instructor
GRADE: BSAC Dive Leader, PADI Rescue
Diver
Trained with PADI in 2005 in Spain and joined SASAC in 2006. Steve
likes the 'feeling of flying' you get from diving and being able to get up close to sea life. 'On
land you see something 20 yards away - in the sea it's so close.'

Water Instructor
GRADE: BSAC Advanced Diver
Trained with Bushey & Borehamwood Sub-Aqua Club in 2004.
Eamonn finds diving a good way to relax - 'my phone doesn't work under water' - and likes both
scenic diving and wrecks that are in good condition.

Instructor
GRADE: BSAC Dive Leader
Trained in 2007 with Trident Sub Aqua Club in Hatfield along with
his son, before joining SASAC in 2010. 'I like all types of diving but warm waters with a wreck and
lots of sea life have to be best.'

Robin Smith, BSAC Open Water
Instructor
GRADE: BSAC Advanced Diver
Trained with SASAC in 2000. Robin has a special interest in marine
life and is an observer for Sesearch, the Marine Conversation Society's survey to map the UK
near-shore seabed. 'Diving is great because it requires absolute concentration.'

Peter Stansfield, BSAC Advanced
Instructor
GRADE: BSAC First Class Diver
Trained with Potters Bar Sub Aqua Club in 1976 before joining
SASAC in 1988. 'Diving is one of the few things that stops me worrying about work.' A
keen technical diver, Peter has taken the Trimix Diver course run by Technical Diving
International.
